What Research Is Exploring
Coriander essential oil has substantial laboratory research, but human clinical evidence is still very limited. A 2026 scoping review specifically examining Coriander essential oil and oral Candida identified 30 relevant publications but found no clinical trials or in-vivo experimental studies; the evidence it found was laboratory-based. Earlier studies have reported antibacterial and antifungal activity in test systems and explored how Coriander essential oil interacts with microbial cell membranes. Laboratory findings are useful for generating research questions, but they do not establish that using this retail essential oil prevents or treats infection in people. This is a good example of an ingredient with interesting early science where human clinical research still needs to catch up.
